A primer released by the international law firm, Pillsbury, is designed to help nonprofits understand the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and apply it to their daily operations. The resource includes an annotated Template for US/EU Privacy Notice with advice on how to engage with constituents.
Reports on GDPR preparedness reveal that many companies residing outside the EU think the new regulation doesn’t apply to them. Pillsbury reminds US-based nonprofits that process personal data originating in the EU (either from citizens or through affiliates or member organizations) that they, too, must comply by May 25, 2018.
